WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF BASE OIL?
There are three types of base oils.
o Mineral Oil:
Mineral oil is the classic oil that has been used for years. It is produced by adding detergent, viscosity improver, and anti-wear additives after the distillation of the underground petroleum
we know. It is generally inexpensive and offers average performance.
o Synthetic Oils:
Synthetic oils are oils produced by chemists as a result of various chemical processes in
laboratories. Their prices are high than mineral oils, but they offer both better performance and
extended use. It has high thermal endurance. They perform their lubricating duties for longer
periods and can withstand much more heat.
o Semi-Synthetic Oils:
Semi-synthetic oils are a mixture of the mentioned above, and both their price and performance
are between these two. They are generally obtained by mixing 70-80% mineral oil with 20-30% synthetic oil.
